Join Julie for a workshop that will guide you through multiple mobilizing exercises and therapeutic stretches on the BackMitra. The BackMitra is a targeted yoga prop used as part of asana practice to improve your posture while increasing spinal strength and mobility. Julie regularly incorporates work on the BackMitra into her weekly yoga classes on Fridays at Satya Yoga. The cost of this workshop includes you own BackMitra (a $40 value) as well as a handout with photos and written descriptions of exercises for your personal practice.
Rebecca will lead you through 60 minutes of grounded and peaceful yin postures followed by a 30 minute yoga nidra practice.
Yoga nidra, sometimes called yogic sleep, is a systematic relaxation process that helps release tension in the body and mind, and moves you into a state of deep relaxation. Yin is a style of yoga in which the postures are held for a long duration with some sensation and intensity. Yin yoga offers the practitioner more time in the pose to settle in and let go of tension. All levels and beginners are welcome.
Select Thursday Evenings from 6pm-8pm. Each session is part discussion and theory and part practice.

In this series we’ll explore the 7 main chakras or “energy centers” as well as the 5 vayus or “directions in which energy moves/winds” according to the perspective of the tantric Hatha yoga system. Learning about the chakras and the vayus is like having a map that tells you where to focus your practice and attention depending on your physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. 24 hour continuing education credits available for those registered with YA. $249 for all sessions or $25 for a single session.
Join Teresa for an evening of sound immersion and relaxation. We’ll begin the evening with gentle movement that leads us in to 20 minute breath and pranayama practice to promote inner calm, stress relief, and stillness. After the breath practice Teresa will immerse you in sound healing or sound bath with crystal singing bowls, ocean drum, chanting, harmonium, and gong. Sign up in advance is suggested.
